A return trip from Le Crotoy to St-Valery-sur-Somme on the Chemin de Fer de la Baie de Somme (Somme Bay Railway), on 16 September 2009. The Somme Bay is where the River Somme meets the sea near Amiens in north-east France, and is a wetland landscape rich in wildlife. Duck hunters have built elaborate hides by some of the ponds, which are planted with dozens of floating decoys. St Valery includes an unspoilt medieval quarter, but while we were there the whole place had a rather out-of-season air.
wow, that was cool, thanks for posting!
