yeah these are the useless craps, that everyone hates and want to turn off in windows, but when it comes to any non-windows OS the useless craps suddenly became "cool features". Whatever...
Smalltalk started in the 70s, and it had windows before Bill Gates and Steve Jobs even knew what a GUI was.. Mice, Object Oriented design, that was on smalltalk machines too, before Mac and Windows.. Something even more, you could code functions in the operating system while working on it, in smalltalk.. I'm not saying smalltalk is better, just that it was the first.. Bill Gates didn't even write the first Basic. Or Dos.. He just resells what other people create.
Ubuntu is the easier distro.. If you want something more complex, how about UNIX on a Mips processor or say an SGI with all commercial compilers. Ah those were the days, headless X11 terminals, costly Unix distributions, costly servers.. Easier and more accessible is better.. You can roll your eyes now..
I've been using computers before Windows ever came into existence.. I recall on the amiga all the press telling us Microsoft was going to brainwash people into thinking they invented "multimedia". And they did.. Microsoft has a "not invented here" mentality, that if anyone else makes it, it's crap. They have been this way from the very beginning.. BTW, window based operating systems were created on Smalltalk, not mac or windows. Smalltalk is both a operating system and a language (go figure)..
well it shows how stupid some of you are.U can install software on linux. Its one of the easiest OS's to control these days.Btw I am a Windows User myself and i've been using windows ever since I was 5 years old so i wont critizize Microsoft.
don't be so agressive. kragnerac is right. just try ubuntu for example. if you cant install anything in ubuntu i am forced to call you a moron. how about applications->add/remove? its really that simple.
You have to burn the ISO to data onto a DVD. Any of the major burners can convert an ISO to data. Just look it u pin the software's help file.
