  • *This is not Baba Bulleh Shah's. It is Baba Fareeduding Ganjshakkar's Qalam.*

Both of you are wrong :-P . Its KHWAJA GHULAM FAREED, not to be confused by Baba Fareed Ganjshakar!

  • Meray bhai.. Hazrat Ghulam Farid ka zarf aur Imaan beshak meray aur aap se bohat zayada hai...

  • my eyes jst got twisted.....but else the lyrics are AWSOME.....

  • I really like the song... but the video didnt do the song justice :s

  • tenu khuubsuurat kahun!! SUBHAN ALLAH

  • i don't really get it could someone explain it to me please?

  • In a time where so much BS music is being poured into the masses, for one listener to show such a discouraging attitude towards an honest based on just a mere "personal" preference is really disappointing..

thanks for your well thought our reply rogwall.. but I think you should be more open to honest efforts by musicians.. instead of creating "bottom lines" and drawing them over the creativity of talented musicians... which includes countless legends and fold singers and new artists. regards.

  • catagorically declaring someone's work as being unfair or unrealistic is highly subjective and goes against being impartial and open..

do you know these kaafi and kalam's were passed on from generations to generations. Sometimes singers sing variations of the same kaafi because thats how it was passed on in their own gharana?

the location of the source material also changes words due to differences in dialects and traditions. They didnt have publishing houses back in those days...

  • love this

  • The rhythmatic poetry or in urdu what we call 'ba wazan shairy' HAS the musical time signature on its own and full. There is no need to alter the lyrics if the shairi is 'ba wazan'.

There are 16 'beher's or time signatures in Urdu poetry. I assume it is similar in Punjabi or other similar languages. Bottom line is that there is absolutely no need to alter the lyrics, in fact it is unfair and unrealistic.
