Pepperl+Fuchs introduces an innovative system for wireless, no-wear sensor operation with the Wireless Inductive System (WIS). With the aid of just a few components, it is now possible to operate a wide variety of sensors, even on moving machine parts -- free of all mechanical connections.

At a working distance of 5 mm, the M30 heads achieve a transmission power of 1.5 Watts. The secondary electronics generate 12 V from the power received. Inductive, capacitive, photoelectric, or ultrasonic sensors can be connected to supply this power to the moving units. The signal states of the sensors are transferred from the secondary side to the primary side.

WIS is typically used on swivel tables, presses, or robots as well as for object recognition on moving work pieces.
