This takes me back to my childhood in Blackpool in the 1950s when we'd take the tram when going to Stanley Park. Marton Vambacs were one of my favourites, the other being the Coronation (aka The Spiv). They both had light passenger cabins (glassed roofs), good acceleration (I believe due to the VAMBAC controls) and the fact that they had much softer rides (due, I believe, to rubberised wheels which necessitated contact shoes to the rails to maintain the electrical circuit). Oh Happy Days!!
