A little bit of Southern freight action south of Norcross, GA in 1987. First a southbound freight with a caboose. Then a light engine move northbound minutes after the southbound clears the end of single track

  • NS = Southern Railway + Norfolk & Western RR so all these trains were NS trains, they just hadn't gotten around to painting all the units yet..kinda like the Conrail units now...

  • the Norcross DD sit's where you shot this vid

  • Nice to see an NS unit on the first train. Its probably an NS train with 2 Southern units.

  • The best sounding horns ever were on those high hood Southern engines. I think they were Melrose 5 tier horns, if I remember correctly. I don't see many of them any more and there was a time when I was sick of seeing high hood GP38's on the Southern...imagine that.

  • Video is great!

  • Nice! I miss those horns! 5*****
