A quick look at my day pack I carry into the back of beyond! This is just what I take when I dont plan to be out overnight but may stay out for most of the day. I have provisions to make shelter if I get caught out and often have energy / protein bars on me should an unplanned overnight stay occur! I will post my overnight kit soon once I re-pack the tent! The end is in part 2 I ran out of battery!

  • Nice gear buddy. Looks like you're well prepared.

  • @swilliams2482 Thanks, I try to be! We may not have as big an expanse of wilderness here in Scotland, but the conditions are very changeable, very quickly so you need to have yourself covered! I actually forgot to mention in the vid but there is also a millbank bag tucked away in another inner pocket. Always handy.....

  • Wow, that's a VERY squared away sheath wrap method. Is that all one piece of cord? Any chance you'd want to make a video or take a few pictures of how to tie it? [Not that I want you to have to untie it. :) ] What size tarp do you carry?

  • @mysss29 It is indeed one piece of cord! Cant actually remember how long it was when I started. This is actually the 2nd sheath I have - Ka-Bar replaced the original due to the dulling issues I had with it. The replacement has less glass in the mix (I think). I could do a vid with the original by untying / re-tying it as it doesn't matter about that one. I think that Tarp is a small 2m x 2m, The DD 3m x 3m is on my list as this one doesnt have a built in ridge line, I have to fudge one!

  • Superb field kit! I am hoping to post a new small kit that I am packing now. Similar in many ways to what you have here. Good stuff! Nice video.
