@GoodGuitarSolos james labrie use the same idea: connect and mix chest voice with head voice...you can use more o less chest voice in your mix, that's your choise:)
-
@GoodGuitarSolos i've never said that these notes have chest voice...i said that if you use head voice you can connect with chest voice or mix with chest voice...if you use falsetto in high notes you can never connect...
-
@kendallreeve These notes have zero chest connection and they are airy which leads them to be non-modal.
watch?v=5iNyDi7yQlA These high notes are absolutely full.
-
@GoodGuitarSolos it's obvious that it doesn't sound full, because he is using head voice and whistle voice, so chest voice is not engaged...when you're using falsetto, your vocal chords aren't touching so your chest voice can't be used...instead when you use head voice, it's possible to mix it with chest voice (in certain region of your range).
vocal coach like seth riggs or brett manning, teaches this technique :)

@kendallreeve I'm not sure if you are using falsetto as different meaning but for me falsetto = non-modal. These super-high notes are blatantly falsetto/non-modal, there is nothing remotely full about them.
-
@GoodGuitarSolos i don't think so, chords aren't touching in pure falsetto and...but hey, that's my point of view...
-
@kendallreeve Nope, it is pure falsetto, aka non-modal.
