In my various videos, I have repeatedly drawn the parallels between natural life forms and fractal geometry. Unlike my previous fractal videos, there are no mathematically synthesized fractals anywhere in this video. Yet the entire video consists of fractal images. All of the images you will see consist exclusively of real plants. I acquired these plant images during my various field trips over the years in my capacity as an environmental scientist.
One thing that is fun to do (at least for a nerd like me) is to see if you can find the plants within the images. They are always there and if you look for them, they will jump out at you.
The procedure for creating the images is illustrated in the video. I use a layering technique in which hundreds of images of real plants are layered in various combinations to form composite images. The composite images thus created are intended clearly to demonstrate the fractal nature of living ecosystems.
As far as I know, this technique is unique and has never been used before anywhere else. As well as illustrating the point, I find the resultant images to be quite beautiful and I hope you do as well.
Really mind blowing stuff! Everyone needs to see this.
