@VideoMenu  Yup. It's the hypocrisy and cynicism of it that grinds my gears. People selectively use a certain group (Vets, Blacks, whoever) to push their agendas when it is convenient but otherwise don't really give a fuck about them. It's sick. My view on vets is this: They'r just people. Some are cool. Some are dicks. All deserve at least a minimum of gratitude for the bullshit they put up with. If they're hurt as a result of their service (physically or mentally), we need to fix them

it's disgusting, for instance, all those people from the comfort of an audience at the Republican reality show Debates, BOOing a deployed soldier because he's gay. The guy is IN a war zone but gets booed by a Republican audience (who will go to comfy homes afterward) anyway.

Disgusting also when hateful Republican family members speak on behalf of their deployed loved ones as if they, by proxy, have special opinion.

David Cross is right. I get disgusted with the way some of those idiots try to rap themselves in the flag. As someone who spent 10 years in the Marines and probably leans more liberal than conservative in alot of ways they're trying to co-opt patriotism makes me want to punch them. However, the far left is the same way in trying to co-opt certain issues (e.g. politics between the sexes). Basically, all people like that piss me off.

@Fangtorn You're right,conservatives are more responsible for the divide. The mouth pieces of the GOP party, such as Limbaugh and Beck, are constantly defaming "evil liberals". They flat out assert that liberals are trying to take people's rights away, that liberals hate everything they hold dear and want to destroy it. They have even stated that "we must defeat these bastards before they can destroy our country." Conservatism is an out dated, primitive mindset of fear and hate.

@SkeksisRule I don't agree labels divide us. It's our differing values that divide us. I don't think there's this huge social divide between liberal and conservative because of what we call ourselves, and I don't think both sides are equally responsible for it.
