The part of the film where they are in the limo - that's the day after they arrived in NYC. They are headed to the Ed Sullivan Theater to rehearse/sound check. George isn't with them because he was sick in bed with the flu. His sister (a registered nurse) was taking care of him while John, Paul & Ringo went to the theater to rehearse. Neil Aspinall (their road manager) stood in for George during their rehearsals. (also - off camera Cynthia Lennon is sitting on John's lap).
I bet it was fun being a NYC policeman that day holding back all those screaming girls.
