Debbie Gibson in Japan 1997 デビーギブソン"ムーンチャイルド"プロモ来日

This was her 6th visit, not 5th like she said on the end of the clips and sad to say, it was the last time she came to Japan.
You can see Deb is calling herself Debbie from these clips. That is because officially "Deborah Gibson" is yet to come after all and she still IS "Debbie" in Japan.

改名・・・と言うべきなのでしょうか、本国では正式にデボラ・ギブソン名義で自社レーベルから発売されたアルバムのタイトルもずばり"デボラ"。デビーという芸名はデビュ­ー当時アトランタに付けられてしまい今も昔も好きではないと自身語っていますが、日本ではデボラではあまりにムリがあるとでも判断されたのでしょうか、アルバムタイトルは­「ムーンチャイルド」に、名義も日本ではデビー・ギブソンのまま（日本ではそれで正解だと思いますけど）。プロモーション来日の際にはかたくなに自身をデビーと言い続けて­るのが痛々しい反面プロ根性を感じました。
で結局2010年、デビー自身相当迷っていたようですがデビー・ギブソン名義に戻ることを決断しました。アメリカでの露出もすべて公式にデビー・ギブソンと名乗っています­。
