The 45s cover -Reflections Of My Life is a hit single of Scottish band The Marmalade, written by lead guitarist Junior Campbell, and singer Dean Ford (born Thomas MacAleese). Released in late 1969, it was the band's first Decca release following their "pop" years at CBS. It went on to chart worldwide, including a #10 peak in Billboard in the USA.
A haunting, cleverly crafted timeless song, allegedly written with Vietnam connotations, the song still holds up today, as can be verified by nearly 1million "hits" in total for the title on youtube.
The track features lead vocal by Dean Ford backed by strong harmonies, and includes a "reverse tape" guitar solo by Campbell.
"Reflections of My Life" has produced sales of over two million units. In 1998 the writers were awarded a Special Citation of Achievement by BMI for attaining radio broadcast performances in excess of one million in the USA alone.
