  • Quick question can the dark energy outs sync the monotribe? Say if I had the darke energy being controlled my my emx1 groovebox?

IM finding it hard to see and easy way to sync a monotribe to other grooveboxes.

    Cheers,

  • @aikighost

Hi, Do you mean dark time instead of energy? if so the sync output of the dark time will drive the monotribe.

  • Hi!

Very nice video :-) ... i am thinking about buying a monotribe... & i want to sync it with my analog step sequencer (urzwerg pro/mfb), which is almost equal to the dark time... so my question: could you please describe your sync set up!? it woul be very helpful for me... best regards, selektus

  • @selektus

    Hi There

We just clocked the sequencer using the Dark-Time Sync output to the sync input on the Monotribe .It looks like from there website that the urzwerg pro/mfb will do the same thing.

    Thanks

    Mark

  • wow.... i have dreamed about this setup - throw in a OP1 and it would be sick

  • its my arm and gear in this video. we used the CLOCK OUT ON THE DARK TIME TO THE SYNC IN ON THE MONOTRIBE. EASY. AT HOME I HAVE THE DARK TIME CONTROLLING DARK ENERGY ROW 1 CV - MICROKORG ROW 2 MIDI THEN THRU TO THE KORG MS10 VIA A PRO SOLO . AND THE MONOTRIBE FROM THE CLOCK OUT... THIS WORKS WELL BUT THE MICROKORG AND MS10 OBVIOUSLY PLAY THE SAME PATTERN AS THEY ARE ON THE ONLY MIDI CHANNEL.... I WOULD NEED ANOTHER DARK TIME TO SEPERATE THESE INSTRUMENTS.... CHEERS

  • hi charliemouse here. i would like to clear up how this set up works. it's my arm and gear you can see in the vid... i contacted mark at pmt norwich asking him whether he had a monotribe i could try to get to run off my dark time sequencer using the clock output. he said yep no worries. so the dark time 1st row controls the dark energy. i then connected the CLOCK OUTPUT on the dark time to control the monotribe using it's SYNC IN. it worked fine. old skool style no need for midi....

  • @aikighost Not out of the Box. The DE has no Analog Sync Output. The Monotribe has an Audio Trigger Input to sync the internal sequencer. You can use a short audio sample (like a kick drum with short Attack / Release) wich is triggered on every beat and fed it into the Monotribes Sync Input. You need to fiddle around with the sample and volume a bit to get it right. The EMX has two assignable Audio Outs (beside the Main ones) so you can use one of them to fed the Mono and DE is synced via Midi.

  • @ferg303 nah I mean If I buy a dark energy and control it via midi can I use the sync out on the back to drive the sync on a monotribe?

  • really nice ;)
