  • continental 4 cylinder, updraft carb, flathead but I could be wrong

  • @gangesexcavating

    That what I suspected.

  • Im new to welding and I want to buy one to work on vehicles and trailers. Could you please tell me the best brand welder out there. Thanks a bunch.

  • @almanacaa

What you need is to know how thick of metal you want to weld. For sheet and light gauge steel a wire feed is a good choice. For heavy 3/32" + you need a stick welder. If you are a rookie welder buy a 115 volt welder and practice the basics, these do work fairly well for most repair work around the shop . If you want a 220 volt welder get name brand.

  • Not going scrap a classic. I will video the motor next trip to my storage yard.

  • The little box by the carb is a governor if I had to venture a guess. It would control the RPM's of the engine when you stuck an arc. The welder is worth keeping and fixing if you wanted something mobile to weld with. Might be worth something to a collector of old equipment as well. . . The last thing I'd do with it is scrap it out, that would be a travesty.
