  • @csworldwide101 That composition was extremely popular with Chicago television stations during the early-1980s. It was also used for the nightly transition of WSNS-Ch. 44 into ON-TV beginning in September 1980.

  • @M1903A1 There sure was!

  • I miss "nightbeat" and the nightbeat theme!

  • WOW! they played Bob James's Touchdown for the late movie plug! NICE!!!

  • @M1903A1 yes,the "Last Farewell" clips were my favorite. I created my own version of it (but nothing's better than the original, though and it's hard to find on the net.) There were two clips-one used the "WGN globe and the "circle 9" with the voice over saying something like "This is WGN Television Chicago serving channel 9 viewers 24 hours a day" and others with "WGN CHICAGO" circling around the 9 with the voice overs giving the time.. "WGN television 9 in Chicago at 6:30". Ultimate TV junkie!

  • SU-PER-MAAAAAAN!!

  • Was there also a version of this station ID graphic that used the "Last Farewell" music like their late 1970s ID?

  • Oh yeah, i remember this. in 82 or 83, for sure.
