Here's a YouTube R1 video featuring the Team RidersDiscount.com YZF-R1 Superbike. The RidersDiscount.com Yamaha YZF-R1 was built to AMA Superbike specifications using the best aftermarket Yamaha parts and accessories available from Riders Discount. No aspect of the RidersDiscount.com R1 was overlooked: from the Ariete 90° valve stems to the Yamaha's crossplane engine and even the SharkSkinz bodywork was modified to make it a potent track weapon. The only thing that stopped us from taking it even further was AMA Superbike rulebook!

In this Yamaha R1 YouTube video, the RD R1 Yamaha does some laps at Gingerman Raceway while evaluating some different R1 suspension setup and R1 engine characteristics. The Yamaha is piloted by RD's own talented mystery rider who is seen here sliding the bike into, and out of -- just about every corner at Gingerman Raceway. When he's not spinning it up or backing it in, he's busy wheeling the bike ... everywhere.

So, why do we have a mystery rider? At RidersDiscount.com, we buy, build and race our own bikes to better understand what products work and what's not worth putting on YOUR bike. And we do it all at our headquarters in Western Michigan, so we can bolt the parts on and try them out as soon as they become available. • The rev counter looks odd when he drifts out of a corner... Like the power is getting cut. Maybe he just has a twichy wrist xD

  • @ChosenMime8 That would be the slipper clutch doing its thing. ;)

  • Did you fit a TC to this r1? And how does that even work? Do you put the sensors onto the wheels and measure the rpms?

  • @ChosenMime8 No traction control here, just a very talented rider at the controls. There are a few different ways to employ traction control. Some use wheel speed sensors, some use accelerometers, but basically they all compare throttle input to engine speed for determining when the rear is actually slipping -vs- gripping.

  • When the rider is braking&sliding into the corner at a high rate of speed, I hear a distinct whistling sound, is that the tires or the bike itself?

  • JOSH HERRIN! its gotta be him, i can tell..

  • @redeiko0713 It's still in there otherwise we'd have a nasty mess on our hands here!

  • @whoogie think they removed the inside plug

  • @terribleone923 That would be the fuel tank breather hose. Because we're using a kit fuel tank, the regular breather mechanism is no longer part of the fuel cap. But you still need it if you expect the fuel pump to function properly - so we routed it on the fairing stay, just like you see on GP bikes and other superbikes.
