  • well, if you let it hibernate every time after use, it'll boot up just as fast as the express gate, and you even get full functions with win7 as well.. i'd say, the express gate still isn't as convincing to me...

still something nice to have though

  • @eggimage : Windows7 boots very slow on the T101MT! But I think ASUS ExpressGate is not fast enough! It tooks over 20seceonds to boot Linux and open a InternetExplorer! (and this is a "Instant On" software!) As you say: Maybe ExpressGate is a nice feature, but I will never use it. ^^

  • can someone please explain how the fuck do i get to use express gate, i DO have it installed and i don't have a express gate ON button... It's driving me crazy...

  • My Asus eee T 101 MT is in around 45 Seconds online & ready for browsing (Windows 7 / 2GB Ram)

  • Hmm.. da würde ich lieber 40 Sekunden länger warten für Windows!

I'm thinking of buying one of these next week to replace my old 901. Do you know if the T101 uses a standard 2.5" HDD or a 1.8" one? I'd like to replace it with an SSD...

  • @sammyproduction it's because there are 2 kind of Splashtop. This one is on hard disk drive, so it's like a common Linux boot. The best one (3-5 sec boot) uses a dedicated flash memory
