@bwoodsfinest not all of them dont understand the way they talk
but you are right not all Caribbean countries understand.

@alphafemale99 I know that.Haitians first languages are creole and french. In DR the first language is Spanish.Dominica,Martinique,& some other Caribbean countries prime language isn't English so this isn't something we understand unless you speak English. Then there is an accent on top of it mixed with patois/slang from the applicable country. It's not about being born stateside,it's about recognizing that there are many Carib countries who actually speak other languages.

@bwoodsfinest Different islands and/ or regions of the Caribbean (ex. USVI, BVI, Trinidad Tobago, Barbados, Bermuda) have their own "calypso" dialect. People born state-side prolly can't tell the difference. I was born in St. Thomas, and lived there for six years---long enough to know instantly when I'm talking to someone from Jamaica (for example). It's a like listening to people from different regions in England---total divergence in dialects, depending on where the person hails from.

@Kriolbwye Definitely not true, not all the countries in the Carib have this accent or understand it...Haitians, Martiniquais, Dominicans from Dominica and many other Carib countries don't understand this...
