  • For the first bar he's improvising and then he starts playing Some Girls. Every time I see he him warming up he plays this song. I have recorded a video on which I'm playing this riff - i posted it yesterday.

  • @eddieoneil Cool video, Eddie. What I'm saying is, can you make a short video showing you playing this exact riff as Johnny is playing it? I know how to play some girls, and I have sturmmed through the chords along with this video... maybe I'm missing something but I don't see it. I'm not trying to be a jerk about it, but it just seems different... similar maybe but the picking pattern is different. I'm happy to be proven wrong, though.

  • @smithsonguitar Hes playing There is a light that never goes out

  • @Xiolablu3 We were talking about the intro. I know he's playing there is a light, it's mentioned in the info.

  • Oh, what I'd give to have a full version of There Is A Light... played like that so I can listen to it on repeat.

Now I do love Morrissey...but sometimes I wish I could just listen to his guitar playing on it's own. Just so much emotion in his playing...I don't even need any words.

He is the reason why I picked up a guitar...although, he also makes me want to put it straight back down because I know I could never be that good.

  • Johnny Marr's riffs are more challenging than the fastest speed metal solos.
