Ok, so we deleted that part of Vista loading... Fingerprint didn't come out, we'll have a look at it later.

We didn't noticed before but the lid closes with the hinges going hard, going like clac.

LEDs up there, battery, wi-fi, bluetooth, media buttons... Let's try hearing the CD, nope, maybe it needs to load windows? (Note: Actually it was because it didn't hace a CD inside).

Ok... when it finally stops loading we'll look at My PC... those are a few apps, I hope not too many... And thingys down there, oh battery is at 100%

Well there are the specs, you can see... Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2Ghz 4Mb cache, 3Gb of RAM... well you can't really see it because thats blurry, but I'm reading it anyway... Then... well 3Gb of RAM is crappy looking forward for Dual-Channel, but you can always buy another 2Gb module.

Look, still loading, this right bar thingy... We should have plugged in a mouse by the way...

Where did you see the Vista putuation thing? Oh 4.7, that's a bit low isn't it? Uhm over 6? well... Graphics 5 dot... well let's start with the first one. Processor 5.1, RAM 4.7, Graphics 5.9, Game Graphics 5.5 and HDD 5.2, thats de 250Gb 5400rpm one. Well...

Lets look at some more specs here... all there is... I don't know how well this will come out... (Note: whatever)

Ah by the way thats de 4440 x 900 screen, yeah I mean the 1440 x 900 lol... The wxga+. It's really nice, colors are bright and windows small.

Let's have a look at apps: Adobe Reader, nice... MediaDirect... some Dell apps like Quicksearch, Support Center and Webcam, things to uninstall anyway... Intel Matrix Storage Manager, I don't know what this is... Games, McAffe 30day Demo... Works... Proyector Suit QL, oh! that's the fingerprint!

Note: The 4.7 is very nice indeed, as Vista takes the lower value as the score, the rest of them are over 5.1, I would say that's really enough... By the way, an Inspiron with 2Gb of RAM got 4.8 in the RAM test, that's weird. The webcam thingy is actually really cool.

Como dices, 4.7 puntos de "Windows experience" es un buen dato, aunque es predecible. Me interesa más cómo funciona en la práctica y "la vida real" (un hecho que suele omitirse en los review pues éstos se atañen más al first look). Supongo que tu loading es lento porque tienes mucho crappy software en el background y un mal antivirus (MacAffe).

Tengo Vista Business para jugar y el Kubuntu 7.04 que uso normalmente. Tardan 40segs y 48segs respectivamente en bootear. Por cierto, el antivirus que uso en Windows es Nod32.

Me gusta mucho la idea de partir el disco e instalar Linux. Por cierto, creo que Dell tiene todos los drivers para ese efecto... ¿Cómo hiciste la prtición: con software especial (Partition Magic), con Windows Vista o directamente con Ubuntu? Claro, si vas a virtualizar, necesitas más de 2 GB, aunque dudo que con "Wine" puedas montar todo el catálogo de programas para Windows (aunque he visto que muchos Adobe funcionan). Los drivers en Windows me dieron algo de dolor de cabeza, algunos no estaban para x64, y por supuesto no detectaba las tarjetas de red al formatear.

En Kubuntu 7.04 solo necesité el de la gráfica, en la web de Nvidia; el fingerprint también va por su cuenta, además de que es bastante lioso.

Y cuando digo máquina virtual digo VirtualBox, que corre un Windows (o el SO que instales) completamente.

Wine de todas formas no está mal, y lo usé un tiempo para el Photoshop también.
