what ever made a bowman think that he "made the calls"? Bowman should keeps their mouths shut, do as they are told and be happy that they are allowed in the boat!

Yes you are correct, this was to teach our bowman a good lesson as he likes to beleive he makes the calls in the boat and called everyoine easy ( stop rowing ) and all suffered the consquence as you can see ! I think he has learnt his lesson !
