CANADA Say NO - STOP THE GASSING of DOGS and CATS

Please read this description to help us:
"The Animal Control business has been operated largely by one family in and around the cities of Duncan and Nanaimo, British Columbia on the west coast of Canada. This same family started the family business in 1975, and now along with their son, this family also owns other locations as well".....

"From 1975 until about October 2000, this family admitted to media his business did electrocute animals including pet dogs and cats by electrocution. The electrocution device, which is called and "electrothinator" would sometimes malfunction while being used and eventually was replaced by the gas box.

In recent years all over North America and Europe these gas chambers are being replaced by a humane method of destroying our unwanted companion animals.

Euthanasia means a "good death". Sedation followed by injection of Sodium Pentobarbital is the humane way recommended. That's why we have our pets put to sleep that way, don't we?

EACH SHELTER OPERATES UNDER DIFFERENT EUTHANASIA PROTOCOLS:

In some shelters The electrocution device which is called an electrothinator would sometimes malfunction. Because of public pressure the electrothinator was removed. At some facilities Dogs are now Euthanized by lethal injection but Cats are not offered this opportunity and are disposed of by the Gas Box.

Animal Services is gassing cats, feral and tame ones as well. Dogs are taken to the vet for lethal injection and we ask the same for the cats as well. Why are the cats still having to suffer?

Just because the animals have no home, they should not suffer their last breath.

It's not their fault....we can do better than this.International humane organizations support EBI (Euthanasia By Injection).

How can you help?

1. Email lawmakers in Montreal, Quebec, and also email the following mayors' and councils for the District of North Cowichan and City of Duncan and the who are evaluating the contracts July, 2009.

If every person on the planet, stop for a moment, and think about the pain those animals are enduring, and imagine they are having the same pain, maybe, the suffering will stop...People have to be more aware of the consequence of breeding and discarding a nimals, whatever the reason is...Be more responsible....That's the word...Responsibility...

Once lawmakers make the decision to Stop The Gassing, the three pronged approach is put into place, which is low-cost spay/neutering programs, education, and embracing fosters and rescues. And Adoption rates go up, less animals are surrendered, simply because people experience an awakening and begin to care.

We all have a responsibility to act for ending animal cruelty .... Quebec has a very bad reputation in animal cruelty...We need to act fast!!!

Yeah we live in a free country, but this video is bound to have all sorts of dog lovers like me upset and angry! So maybe your comment "Dogs should be killed" wasnt the best thing to put on here!
