  • you aren't sopose to use starter fluid on a diesel. you can really screw it up doing that. and spraying into the air duct and not the mouth of the intake is pointless anyways. the only thing you are even getting to the engine is the aerosol gas. the starter fluid just sits in the duct and after cranking the air passing over it just dries it up. your not to bright are you?

  • @MrGizmo757 Well if all that gets the the engine is the aerosol gas then i guess the starting fluid cant get a chance to "wash" the cylinders, and isnt really that bad then, huh.

  • are the back engnies hard to work on and the flat front front engines hard to work on i know the internatiol or eney other bus like that is probley easy to work on

  • The rear engines are easier to work on because there is more space

  • Starting fluid is bad for diesels, It detonates before TDC and hurts pistons and rings.

    Nice sounding bus though.

  • @defiance665 If used in access it may also "wash" the cylinders of oil, but knowing how it works, and using the right amount, i dont think any damage has occurred.

  • gotta love michigan weather

  • actually the sound of the starter is funny

  • @fx2ranger94 Actually....if you spray starting fluid into a glow-plugged diesel, it can ruin the glow-plugs. they'll start to bubble up. It doesnt effect grid heaters, but like you said..its a good idea to have it off when you spray ;]

  • @MrGizmo757 Actually you can use starting fluid in a diesel, you either have to cycle the glow plugs or grid heater first and then shut them off. If you don't, you will ignite the starting fluid and blow up your intake. Otherwise there is no harm to the motor.

  • Nice sound!!

  • @MrGizmo757 do it allllll the time on our 700 case...

  • i wish that was my school bus to school

  • @MrGizmo757 how did the bus start-up then, jackass?!

  • This makes me want to go back to high school and overhaul the old bus's exhaust

  • NOTHING WRONG WITH USING STARTER FLUID DONT WORRY ABOUT IT
