(NOTICE! Please read this first before watching the vid! -

Since this video is currently my most popular vid at about over 1,000 views, I'd better let you guys know ahead of time that the file that this map was on was deleted. My hard drive went hari-kiri and all of my previous Minecraft files, this one included, were wiped out, so I wasn't even able to finish the map. I intend, however, to rectify that in the future, and I will definitely be making a new map like this one, just as accurate, and just as awesome, with even more than just a simple village...just bear with me.

And with that, enjoy the video)

With the onrise of Minecraft Patch 1.8, and with the arrival of creative mode added to maps as well as the prospect of reliving nostalgic memories of a simplistic yet wonderfully creative childhood, I decided to go headlong into probably my biggest map project ever concieved in my brain. I'm going to make a Minecraft exact (or exact to the best of my abilities) replica of none other than the island of Mata Nui from the first generation of Lego's Bionicle franchise.

This is a video of the beginnings of my map. I've gotten a lot farther than this over the course of 24 hours and will continue to post more videos. This showcases the construction of the village of Ga-Koro, a village made up entirely of water-dwelling, female Tohunga/Matoran. When I eventually create my texture pack for this map, the wood planks will be made into lily pads, and torches will become Lightstones attached to staves.

I hope you enjoy.

  • realy cool the only problem is that its made of wood in the game its made of lilypad and you could have used dyed wool

  • @TheNapoleon208 Dammit, I kept telling people that I was planning on doing a texture pack with lily pad instead of wood...X(

It doesn't matter now. The project's closed anyway; my hard drive got wiped and the map went with it.

  • I hope someone will do the Mata Nui robot and the prototype robot some time soon......

  • @Tremulousnut I'm not sure any computer on the planet can be able to handle that kind of epicness in scale...roflmao.

  • Make a texture pack that replaces wood as with the seaweed from the ga-koro

  • @Chrmlw That's the general idea, friend.

  • awsome

  • Yea, it's HUMONGOUS and AWESOME :D

  • @ZG5002 The cool thing though is, with 1.8 on having such tremendous biomes, having to build so expansively won't be as hard. Hell, you know how happy I was when I first found out there were actually going to be real oceans in Minecraft? lol

  • @KerianH Well, I didn't actually get any further, than trying to make a 489.090 block long line, so that I would have something to go by scale-wise. But as I mentioned, I only got to around 6.000 blocks, and then I gave up because my computer wouldn't render the world right :P
