  • Great, a mom wishing that her newborn daughter would die because she wasn't born a son. What an awesome religion!

  • 12 kids omg. That's putting your own body through too much abuse.

  • Polygamous Women are Pringles

  • @queenlivesforever this is sickening to those in the western civilization, but according to sociological facts... most people worldwide prefer male children and there is a problem with people aborting female children in China

  • this is people are not real christians they do NOT serve God they serve satan...

  • One of the reasons the mormons take many wives is so that they can have many children and the church increases in numbers and power. They raise the children to embrace the faith (right or wrong) & this is why there exists so many devout mormons. When the wife loses her appeal she is put out to pasture. LOL

  • @fluffyviolet

Well, a REAL man has at least 7 wives! (Just ask the ghost of Parley Parker Pratt, if you don't believe me!)

  • @maybetuesday1790

One of the first polygamists (besides Jos.Smith) was one Heber Kimball.

Kimball--in Utah--was recorded as saying, once, that " I think nothing more of adding another wife than I do of buying a cow."

Sounds like chattel (and cattle!), to me!

  • @momoboy2010

That's right. It is all covered, in their D&C, Section 132.

ODDLY, that section (starting around verse 60-65) gives the conditions for talking of extra wives:

the first, being a virgin, must give her consent to the man's taking of others, also virgins. It does not say that the first woman "had BEEN a virgin", but rather that she, "BEING a virgin", was to give her consent, to the adding of still other virgins.

It then says that, in doing thus, the man is not guilty of adultery

  • polygamy is some sick sh*t..

  • mormon, reorganized mormon, palygamists...they are all the same. they all believe in the same practice. LDS mainstream claim not to praactice it, but still believe in eteranl progression to godhood whereas gods will have many wives; new and everlasting covenant. it's in their D&C
