ExoMars will have instruments to investigate whether life ever arose on the Red Planet. It will also be the first mission combining mobility and access to subsurface locations where organic molecules may be well-preserved. Establishing whether life ever existed, or is still active on Mars today, is one of the outstanding questions of our time. It is also a prerequisite to prepare for the future human exploration of the Red Planet.
Good job Europe

@TableWolfMusic I wouldn´t call 1999 recently. By the way, the Mars Climate Orbiter was a Nasa orbiter that crashed because Nasa used the unit Newton, but Boeing used the unit pound-force. That´s why the orbiter burned in the atmosphere. The only european lander that was send to mars was the beagle 2 probe, that should haved drilled into the mars soil to a deepth of 1,5 meters. But since the probe entered the mars atmosphere there was no radio contact.either it crashed or the antenna is broken

We crashed a probe into it recently. What a waste. It was going to be a weather station laboratory of sorts but there was a mix up with the measurements and so it was destroyed on impact.

Is it true that no European robot has ever successfully landed on Mars so far? Is it just the Americans and the Russians?

Noch ein Video "Ohne Worte". Vor 30 Jahren war das in Illustrierten und Comics üblich; Sie sparen am falschen Ende.
