@DusanJazzMan word. as trane grew spiritually his tone got even more and more powerful. Listen to 'vigil'

Coltrane is aloof to anything this guy cares about knowing, but THIS GUY did grab a tape of priceless wisdom, so he ought to be proud, real proud, and GLAD John didn't just strangle him and go on about his evening.

Humility, honesty.. an open mind and heart.
Coltrane is such an inspiration to me.

my life is richer because i discovered John at 15. even before i heard Bird, I had heard Coltrane.........xx
"at each stage we must clean the mirror"

Pulse is absolutely necessary. Trance was moving in another direction. He was beginning to feel his age. He was getting tired. Elvin was muscular and a strong man. I don't have his ear or command of my hand-ear-eye-voice coordination. Modal Blues of Chasin the Train sputtering inconclusiveness and intensity. A thousand choruses of FLydian Dominant.

The info is true: You can only strive to be this kind of man.

Actually my comments were those of Martin Williams the Jazz critic who almost left Trane out of the Smithsonian Collection of Classic Jazz. I was always inspired by John's music. Martin said, " a thousand choruses of sputtering inconclusiveness."
