Paisley - ADOPTED!

Paisley is a sweet and gentle 3-4 year-old Beagle/Plott Hound mix female who came to Canine Lifeline from a local dog pound so she could get the medical attention she needed. She arrived at the shelter with what looked to be a badly dislocated hip and significant muscle atrophy in one of her back legs suggesting that the injury was months-old. Once we got her to the vet, x-rays confirmed that injury and indicated that she would require surgery to repair the damage. The recommendation was to do a femoral head ostectomy. This surgery is very expensive but without it she would continue to be in a lot of pain and have impaired mobility so there was no question that she would have the surgery. Paisley is now recovering beautifully from the operation and for the first time in a long time is walking almost pain-free. You can see a smile on her face and a spring in her step now that she's on the road to recovery. She's starting to play and entice both people and other dogs with her play bow. Paisley gets along well with other dogs and is housetrained as well as crate-trained. She has the most soft and silky coat--just like velvet. She will be ready for adoption around Feb 1 and will need a family who will commit to taking her on lots of leash walks to build the muscle back up in her repaired leg.
