She became famous all over Mexico too. You should read her bio; it very impressive what an impact she had. I remember walking around in the neighborhood when I was a kid and hear many of the home listening to her on the radio.

This beautiful lady opened the doors wide open for future Reynas of Tejano music,,,,what a great song.......que en paz descanse hasta gran dama de nuestra musica....Lydia Mendoza was La Reyna De La musica Tejana de nuestros padres y abuelitos, she was the Selena of their generation.....and you know what, she still sounds good today as in the past, her music leaps from generation to generation, que Dios la bendiga para siempre.....gracias Dona Lydia Mendoza por su musica y por ser una gran dama!
