How are states that are like socialism explained in the video? Somewhat like Sweden. State ownership of the main industries and heavy regulation on the private industries.

Yeah, I agree. Most people are like me, who don't know the true meaning of socialism. I see that Libertarians and Anarchists are pretty much in the same boat. Misunderstood by most people. Hmm, what do you see as main differences of the effects of true Socialism and Libertarianism?

How is state ownership and regulation socialist, though?

Depends on what you mean by libertarianism. Do you mean anarchism, or american libertarianism?

I said that there are states that are like socialism is explained in this video. I never said that they are socialist, just that they are explained as socialist in this video. ok? One of them is Sweden. Now, put that in the context of earlier comments, and try to understand my point.

By libertarianism, I mean the US Constitution with the meaning that was intended.

Okay then. The main differences? Socialists believe in worker liberation from the bourgeoise and libertarians believe in strong private property rights.
I'm still not sure what you mean by the effects. Do you mean how they've turned out in the past? That's difficult to answer, because many people will tell you that some example really isn't socialist or that some other example really isn't libertarian.

But what are the real differences between worker liberation from the bourgeoise and strong property rights? And also, what does a real socialist think of the US Constitution?

Yeah, as with probably all ideologies there are no real examples. But how different would an ideal socialist state look from an ideal libertarian state? Hmm...Maybe just meaningless speculation to ask a question like that.

Strong property rights means the capitalists can do what they want with what they deem their property, including their workers, they can tell the workers how much money they make from their own labor and how much the capitalist can drain from it. Basically. Look this stuff up?

Ideal socialist state - the workers own the means of production. Ideal libertarian state - there is a small central government, strong property rights. I'm not understanding what you're asking for, what kind of diff.?

hmm, I feel that it's time to stop this conversation now. I'll probably get answers as time goes. Thanks for sharing. =)

Peace

I see what you're going for here, but this isn't what most people see. They see those evil liberals at the left (meaning big government) and see communists at the far left (thinking that communism means big government, when it actually means no government) and anarchism at the far right (simply meaning no government, when anarchism has for the past 200 years been socialist). This scale isn't what most people go by, either.

That's why most people are confused.

This video does a good job of untangling the deceit.
