For 21 years now, I've been trying to find out who sang this song that was so popular when I was growing up in Cavite, Philippines. Then a few years ago, a younger friend of mine sent me a cassette tape of this song -- but then, without the singer's name! I was so frustrated -- until I came across this song on YouTube just now as I was listening to Johnny Nash's "Walk with Faith in your Heart." Thanks, Onsop, for this one. . . I am sooooo grateful! You helped solve a decades-old puzzle!

Sandy Stewart's best 3 hits are: MY COLORING BOOK; PROMISE OF LOVE; and HEAVENLY FATHER. In musical world, her popularity is similar to that of Shelley Fabares (famed for JOHNNY ANGEL). They are in their peak in late '50s and early '60s, the era of the Twist and instrumental band sound. Afterwards, there come The Beatles, as part of the "British Invasion". HAPPY. VALENTINE'S DAY to all music lovers, with emphasis to DMB. From Edgardo Valentino D. Olaes

Sandy Stewart started to lean towards the Patsy Cline sound in 1968. She also composed songs for Patsy Cline and backdated the release to the fifties for copyright reasons to confuse the press, her many agents etc

Thank you so much for this gem of a melody. One of the songs that I would never get tired listening to.
We who grew up listening to this song might have inadvertenly missed its power it can conjure up at present. Relegated in the abyss of age and forgetfulness and never to be played as the new songs came up, now it can be told that this song is never after all a thing of the past, worthless and irrelevant, but an instrument of the past that can lift and inspire lives by evoking the memories whcih further enrich and ennoble lives
