This is a tutorial about how upload (FTP) WordPress to create your own website. WordPress is a open source content management system (CMS) and popular blogging software. It typically requires Apache, MySQL, and PHP. I can run on other platforms as well such as IIS (Internet Information Services) and Microsoft SQL. It's a great way to create a websites for people that don't know how to create websites.

Thanks for Watching!
Thanks for this information. I'm having a little problem with the Filezilla part. Everytime i type my Host's name, password and username, i get critical error and can't quickconnect to server. Do i type in my site name.com and the password i used to login into Hostgator or the MySQL name and password? Thanks.

@ReddScarletStudios Your HostGator name and password. Good question! Though if you aren't using HostGator it may not be the same. I've seen some crummy, cheap hosting companies use a different FTP username and password from the CPanel name. remember if you are using HostGator, they have the Fantastico option. You just fill out three or four boxes and Bam! it's installed.

Your tutorial is the best one I've seen on YouTube. I can't figure out why it is, though, that all of the tutorials begin by talking about domain names and uploading to a server? I planned on spending quite a bit of time working on my site before finally putting it up on the web. I don't know much. Am I making any sense?

@BrianHayesClassical Yes, you are making sense. Most people have no idea where to begin with a website. So, it's best to start at the very beginning. It's nice to say that you want to work on your website before you release it to the world, but don't wait so long that you never get around to doing it.
