  • I never heard cat piss, but I'll take your word on that. :-)

  • Seean Kinney....as in the drummer from Alice in Chains Sean Kinney or another guy?

  • I am the filmmaker Sean Kinney, Thanks for asking.

  • I like this version, but I don't think it carries the message

  • She has a lovely voice, but can't carry this song. There is none of the passion, strength, anguish and heartbreak that one should associate with this song. Every single time I listen to Tommy Makems version I actually feel the pain of the woman, and am filled with such a pride to be Irish. When I listen to this I feel she could be singing about absolutely anything.

  • She has a beautiful voice, but I have to agree with so many others. She doesn't, or perhaps isn't able, to portray the power nor the emotion, the grief and anguish expressed within the story of the song. With Tommy Makem's version, I can't help but feel my heart breaking when I hear him. With this one...eh, no.

  • Schmaltz...Pure Schmaltz! Tommy Makem would be "a-turnin in his grave, sure he would!"

  • the video is horrific

  • "MY SONS HAD SONS....AS BRAVE AS THEIR FATHERS....AND MY FOUR GREEN FIELDS WILL BLOOM ONCE AGAIN SAID SHE".

Pity the south didnt answer our mother EIRE's call in the 1960's.

  • Go on Google - MARIAN GAGGED

  • good voice, great voice but not enough ummmph in it compared to makem's one, or even jim mc Cann's cover.

  • TAL MO CHARA. LOVE THE SONG AND ITS MEANING.

  • @josephonwhidbey @thingjob To correct you both, it's called Gaelic. And it's the old celtic language, still used in Ireland, and to a lesser extent Scotland. Not sure how Welsh fits in with Gaelic, afaik Welsh is a totally different thing from Gaelic. But I could be wrong.

  • The young lady singing needs to be 'live' and inject the passion inherent in the wrods to this anthem

  • Loved this version. Beautiful song and beautiful singer.Tommy Makem would be proud.
