This song is from one of the most famous tradional chinese music_ 渔舟唱晚 (Fisherman's Song At Dusk)
Artist: 童丽 (Tong, Li)

  • Thumbs up for a beautiful chinese song with no dislikes!

  • @Davidkracht i agree that they should individually be called languages, under the same linguistic family. because they do share roots with the Old Chinese.

if you think Cantonese and Mandarin are different, try comparing them with Minnan (Hokkien) lol.

i have a friend who speaks Mandarin, but says she can understand some Cantonese, but can't understand Hokkien at all.

good thing the Chinese have the same written language though lol.

  • I love the painting!

  • Such beautiful women! Where do these pictures come from?

  • Công nhận nhạc Trung Quốc hay

  • @GothicSilverWolf666 Lol, no, you're wrong. Check out any painting of any ideal beauty from the Tang to the end of the Qing... the women all have very small eyes with single eyelids. Only recently did big eyes come to be seen as preferable in Chinese culture.

Google "Court Ladies of the Former Shu" or "Evening Banquet" by Han Xizai for examples of traditional Chinese beauties. All of the women have very long, narrow eyes.

  • @CuriosityRoads uhm, no. traditional chinese people will mostly regard a woman with large eyes as very beautiful rather than having smaller eyes, at least the area where I come from, although I'm almost certain that idea is prevalent through all of chinese culture.

  • Most of the Chinese "dialects" should simply be regarded as different languages, since Mandarin and Cantonese, for example, are very close to being completely, mutually unintelligible. I have two Chinese friends, in fact, one who speaks only Mandarin and the other guy who speaks both; they have to communicate in Mandarin or the first guy won't be able to understand a thing :)

  • Chinese music is the bbest!
