Dentists don't do that here. Only in special cases they use total anaesthetic, but you need to go to a clinic. It's not necessary either for taking a wisdom tooth out.

@filzah102 Nitrous oxide has a documented effect of causing sensations similar to being high. This intoxicated condition, predictably, severely clouds judgement and pain reception.
Not all patients experience the same thing. I sure as hell didn't.

Try to picture a very strong smelling after shave, that's kind of what it smells like. Fairly sweet and not at all unpleasant.

What a wonderful video. How long before the video start did you get the mask on your face? What is the smell of the gas? What did you feel during the induction? I am asking this because I am considering to be put under using gas. Thanks again for the fabulous document!

@hexabit2 probably like 15 seconds maybe? getting to sleep doesn't take long at all- two minutes tops. but i think i was out in a little over a minute. the smell of the gas really depends on who the anesthesiologist is/what they do. but mine put chapstick on the mask to make the gas more bearable. after they put the mask on its kind of like a tingly cold feeling just goes over your body and you can't fight it at all. you just feel exhausted, your eyes close and then you go to sleep like normal.

@martycatron honestly, even though i was laughing my face off i was extremely tired. i felt my whole body tingling and it's really unfightable. you try but fail. miserably. and then the next thing you know your eyes close and you fall asleep. just like if you were going to bed.

I am consternating getting gassed due to not liking IV's for upcoming surgery. but I have heard the gas smells. Did it smell bad or did you even care

@lrich65184 yeah the gas is gross but i haaaaate needles and they put chapstick on the gas so it doesn't smell that bad. kind of like getting that shit in your teeth when you go to the dentist..it's totally bearable but not pleasant.
