I trust Ron more than Rand, but Rand is doing his best to cut spending which the Tea Party is all about. Not all Tea Partiers are libertarian, so it's easy to get mad if you go with that view =). You have to make coalitions with folk to gain support. I think it's all part of his plan to show he's actively trying to do something about the national debt, get's him more air time on TV ;-).
