BIOTECanada speaks with Dr Gebisa Ejeta, winner of the 2009 World Food Prize, about how the private sector can help in agricultural development. A researcher specialising in sorghum, Dr Ejeta's research has increased yields of this important staple crop, increased its resistance to weeds and worked with farmers in Ethiopia to set up a seed distribution system to get the seeds out into the community.
