  • bravaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ! the maestro should be killed TERRIBLE ... and miss cantarero has a hudge voice ... i cant hear florez lolol bravaaaa

  • spot on.

  • Considering how many other times Flórez has sung high D's the transposition was perhaps made for the soprano - I don't know. But it is a shame that the singers don't get more sympathetic support from the conductor. In several instances he rushes them when they try to express the emotions of their parts with fermate, rallentandi etc., and the orchestra which isn't well rehearsed, is too loud in the forte sections, drowning out especially Flórez.

  • i agree - j.d.florez is wonderful. but just for the record -- as of the phrase 'Ah! perdona, ell'era misera....' this version has been transposed down a half-step, so the high notes he sings are D-flats, not the Ds as originally written.

but God bless him, he is wonderful.

  • When I hear this, I have to marvel at ANY singer who can sing the near impossible tessitura THEN sing the high D's, C' and F's ! It seems Donizetti's, Rossini's, Bellini's LOVED to beat the voice to death in the upeer passagio, then throw in a high D just to make sure his victory over the human voice was complete. BRAVO to these two singers who are UNDEFEATABLE !
