This was my first engine out, I was very new to the sport with only 27 flights in...I was pretty freaked about it when it happened. Now 250+ flight later and 7 engine out this seems soooo mild! But it was some good footage from my helmet cam so I thought I would share.

  • My friend, Powered Paragliding is the best! There are a ton of web sites out there on the sport. The best one I can recommend is footflyer dot com It will tell you everything you want to know about the sport.

  • I had an engine out on my paraplane with only 3 hours. I switched to Bell-ray oil. Carbon was getting in between the spark plug, where it sparks. Had an engine out on my cessna after 10 hours. Found a field. that was 2001, Litchfield, Ct. Sold plane, joined a club, but looking a para again, found one used for 2900.00, might buy it. Tim Andrew, Naugatuck, Ct like to form a club, have 106 acres in Naugatuck.

  • Freak not. It does help to have done some non powered canopy flight (Where you have only one chance to land, such as skydive), but make a plan as high as you can, watching out for power lines etc. then just stick to it.

  • why is there so many engine outs? cars dont break down that often, so why an airfcraft

  • Wow...all that field for you to land in...I'm surprised you got freaked out after only 27 flights. My first "bad" experience was my 4th flight with turbulent winds. It was only a 30 second ride. And my first engine out due to fuel loss was probably my 17th flight but I didn't get too scared. I just landed. However, check out my video response to your video--it was my most recent incident. Keep flying those blue skies!!! =D

  • 7 engine out ?!?!? With a corsair black devil ? I had 2 engine out after only 15 h with a new corsair black devil . Could you please tell me what was the reason for those engine failures ? Are you using a walbro carburetor ? Please let me know , I have a hard time with my param. Thank you !

  • Yes nice video laughed with you mate after you landed, you sounded relieved hehe, just bougyt a motor 2 weeks ago and look forward to my first shot soon.

  • Thanks for sharing! Reminds me to be more mindful of the terrain I fly over. I haven't had my first EO... yet. :-)

  • So what ended up being the problem? NICE landing and great job handling the EO by the way! Do you fly with your bag now?

Last question. What camera where you using?

    THANKS!
