24 Hours of LeMons - Capitol Offense 2010 Booby Prize Racing Compilation

A compilation of racing action from early on Sunday with the Booby Prize Racing 200sx driven by Matt Demicco including a (heavily truncated to fit in the 10 minute YouTube requirement) battle with Overall Winner's "Sgt Schultz Zwei" Mercedes S500.

We were #4 on the road when the green flag dropped Sunday morning but a transponder failure caused us to lose 21 laps + repair time. We had already overtaken the Merc earlier but they probably didn't realize we had pitted in and weren't contending for position, hence the long drawn out (and unnecessary) dogfight.

As a result of the transponder failure we finished 12th overall out of 86.

Sorry for the bad camera mounting position, I was in a hurry to get it in the car and didn't check :(

BZZZ wrong answer :-) the location of the transponder had nothing to do with it's failure. Just a thought, it's called racing if your fighting for position, otherwise maybe it's unnecessary. Just let him go to have a bit of fun. Not trying to start a fight, just a thought, wouldn't be the first time I was wrong.

Transponder supposed to be within 12" of the road right? If that's what I see on the roll cage, that would 'splain it...

Looked like racing to me.
