-19 F cold start attempt without the block heater on a 1999 7.3. Arrived at the hotel late, and could not get a cord from maintenance to plug it in. After many minutes of trying, we got a cord and plugged it in while we were at the dirt bike ice race throughout the day. Batteries or starter never died, which was impressive.

    what he should do, New Starter (after this vid at least) new glow plugs, glow plug relay, controller and wiring. Put some synthetic in, plug it in when its crazy cold and apologize to that truck

    to everyone saying buy a cummins lets see a 24v start at -19 without being plugged in any diesel will struggle at that temp. doesnt matter if its a ford a chevy or a dodge

    Is it the injectors or the engine itself making the chattering type sound. I notice this on all cold starts just wondering. Don't sound good but if they all do it.
