This drawn arc stud welding machine is capable of doing 20mm studs. A nelson stud welder is possibly the best stud welder in the world for heavy duty welding of studs. The art stud welding process involves the same basic principles as as any other arc welding process. Application of the process consists of two steps:
(1) Welding heat is developed with an arc between the stud and the plate (work).

(2) The two pieces are brought into intimate contact when the proper temperature is reached
