  • Hm. I'm really not sure I believe this as a serious piece of composition. I've seen the sheet music and it honestly just seems he was trying his hardest to fuck with whoever poor sod's job it was to play this.

    There's a part where there's a bar in 3/4, with a 4:3 on it, and the last beat has a 5:4 over 5 quavers in the treble, and 5:4 over 5 semiquavers in the bass. There is a note in each, they are both ties, but the bass needs to be held for, what? One 10th of a 4th of a third longer?

    You're right. In the same way, Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata isn't real music, because it has a crescendo over a sustained note in the 2nd movement.
