This man was an assassin, but not the missile design, but by workers who died working for him. Now I understand that the Russians won the space race. U.S. has the best scientists do not know because they used this unfortunate.

@Itachi18x actually Werner Von Braun considers Pedro Paulet a peruvian scientist to be the father of aeronautics ( liquid fueled rockets) due to his work/invention in 1895 to the 1900s....as he mentions it in one of his books......pretty impressive who would have thought of it.....

@Longmemory1 Do you know if WvB ever publicly spoke of his service to Adolf Hitler and/or why he chose to carry on his research? I have a fragment of a memory that he decided to work for Hitler because to give up the prospect was to give up his life's work. He did eventually come to work for us, and it is obvious his contributions greatly helped protect us and ultimately allowed us to go to the moon. A man of great contradictions and certainly responsible for many deaths.

The Cold War btwn the US and Soviet Union ended in 1989' without a shot being fired. The soviet union collapsed like a hobo on a hot pocket because of a epic failed economy.
