Taking the time to sit down and compile a massive, extensive biography for your character can often prove to be quite useful - even if it's with things that really have nothing to do with the script. Oftentimes, it enables the actor to imagine the character as a living, breathing person, rather than just an inanimate idea on a page. Thoughts?
