Some of those mirrors actually got a paint coating on the backside to protect the mirror.
Now a laser is best used with a surface mirror, so it doesn't have to go through the acrylic, wich will make it lose some power.
Just gently rub the color on the backside off with 100% aceton. Dont take too much time, acrylic aint acetones best friend.
And BAM cheap surface mirrors. Suitable enough for people like me who just experiment a little bit :)

Hi! This is perfect for kids to learn and have fun at the same time. My son has been struggling with making one. He found a can about the same size, cut the ends off and placed a balloon on. We went to a craft store and bought a few round mirrors and stuck it on the balloon. When he tries to talk through it it only moves a tiny bit, if he's lucky. Can you advise us on why and how to make it as cool as your video?
Thanks!

@sbarukh Low frequencies seem to work better than high frequency. The bigger the mirror the less it will move. Tight balloon is important. Getting your face right in there is important. Try using it like a drum to make sure that there is enough movement to make a pattern in the first place.
Sorry. Good luck. Do email if you still need help.
