I had the honor of meeting Mr. Gabaldon a few years ago. It still blows my mind why this Marine did not recieve the CMOH........ The countless lives that were saved on both sides... Just don't make sense.

The movie "Hell To Eternity" is my favorite WWII movie. I have not seen it on TV in a while. I wish they would show it again...instead I get to watch Independence Day over and over and over and over...Don't these stations have the budget to buy more movies????

Where did he live in El Sereno? I grew up in the hills above The JHS. I had no idea we such a hero in our midst!
Guy was Mexican-American and that makes me proud too know i had 2 tios (uncles) that have fought for this country.It makes me proud to say i'm AMERICAN OF MEXICAN DECENT!

@jacobR1377 He is all American and nothing else. I don't brag about being of scottish or irish decent, i brag about being among the most heroic Americans that ever lived, who just didn't get lucky enough to get the bullet for the Medal of Honor. You are all American, or well you should be. Best country this world has ever scene.
