It started with an earache but resulted in something much worse than a common childhood ear infection. A series of test confirmed Helena had cancer at age three.

Needles, procedures and chemotherapy at The Hospital for Sick Children became the norm for little Helena as doctors began her treatment protocol.

Today, Helena has finished the difficult part of her treatment but will need to continue some in-Hospital and home therapy.

  • so inspiring i know a little boy who has lukemia his older sister is one of my friendshe is being treated at sickkids i am so happy for Helena and that she is now cancer free

  • Helena is the most insparational little girl I have ever seen. Mr and Mrs Kirk I'm very happy that Helena is cancer free. I hope it never comes back and have fun with your new daughter. :)

  • Awwww. Her father was my enriched english teacher, and I hear she's doing great now. It was so inspiring to see them all pull together and be doing so well!  He was the best teacher I've ever had, and I met Helena- she's so sweet. I'm so happy to see them all staying strong!!!

    I can't believe how brave her mother and father are, its unbelievable, and i cant explain how much i smiled when she said "my cancer is all gone"

  • Such a brave and lovely family. I hope for continued good progress and positive outcomes for Helena. You're right little one, cancer does suck and you've kicked it's behind! Stay strong!  Peace of mind and heart for your parents too...I cannot imagine their stress.
