Damn these comments. Mainstream music has nothing over Chan Marshall because this is the type of music that hits you in the gut and makes you want to melt. It is poetry with sound, with words, with emotion. I mean seriously wtf--technique is nothing when you aren't one with what you are creating. Look at Leonard Cohen, his music is hardly complex, but it transcends because it is real, beautiful poetry, the kind of shit that breaks you and puts you back together again (anew) in 3 minutes time
